Privacy policy

Who we are

Memorix is a memory match game built by WEBIST LLC. This policy covers both the mobile app and this website. For privacy questions, email games@webist.agency.

What we collect

In the mobile app:

  • An anonymous player handle. On first launch the app generates a random handle of the form Player_XXXX and stores it locally on your device. There is no email, password, or account to sign up for. You can edit the handle in Settings.
  • A stable device identifier. On iOS, a random UUID is generated and stored in the iOS Keychain. On Android, the Android SSAID is used. The identifier is sent to our server so that reinstalls and token expiries keep you on the same leaderboard rank. It is not a system advertising identifier and is not shared with third parties.
  • Game outcomes: score, peeks used, seconds left, difficulty, and timestamps — submitted to the global leaderboard when you finish a run, only if you have opted in to leaderboard submission (see below).
  • Apple Game Center / Google Play Games linkage (optional). If you are signed in to Game Center (iOS) or Play Games (Android), the app may pair your in-game handle with the platform-scoped player ID issued by Apple or Google, so that your run also appears on the platform leaderboard. We never receive your Apple ID, Google account email, friends list, or real name from these platforms — only the scoped, anonymous player ID and the display name Apple or Google chooses to share. Platform integration can be disabled by signing out of Game Center / Play Games on your device.
  • Server-side: your IP address is processed temporarily for rate limiting and abuse prevention — never persisted alongside your scores.

On this website:

  • Aggregated traffic metrics via Vercel Analytics — no cookies, no cross-site tracking.
  • The contents of the feedback form, only when you submit it (message + optional email + browser user-agent).

Consent for leaderboard submission

When you first install the app, the onboarding flow explicitly asks whether you want to upload your scores and player handle to the global leaderboard. You can:

  • Join the leaderboard — your runs are uploaded to our server (and, if you are signed in, to Apple Game Center / Google Play Games).
  • Play offline — no run data leaves your device. Your scores stay in local statistics only.

You can change your decision at any time from Settings → Privacy → Submit scores to global leaderboard. Declining only affects future runs; we will not retroactively upload past games. Withdrawing consent does not delete runs that were already submitted while consent was in effect — see Your rights below for deletion requests.

Advertising

Memorix shows banner advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. AdMob is a third-party advertising network that processes a limited amount of device information to choose and measure ads. Specifically:

  • On iOS 14.5+, AdMob only accesses the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA) if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission. The app prompts you for this on first launch. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized using cross-app tracking.
  • In the EU, UK, Switzerland, and other regulated regions, AdMob's User Messaging Platform (UMP) will display a consent form on first launch covering personalized ads, analytics, and partner data sharing. Your choices there govern what AdMob and its partners may use.
  • Even without personalization, AdMob receives standard ad-serving signals: approximate location derived from IP, device model and OS version, language, and ad interaction events. We do not receive this data directly — it is processed by Google subject to Google's advertising privacy policy.

We do not run any other tracking SDKs in the app.

What we don't collect

  • Your real name, phone number, or contacts
  • Your precise location
  • Your Apple ID, Google account email, or platform friends list
  • Payment information — Memorix is free with no in-app purchases.
  • Push notification tokens — Memorix does not send push notifications.
  • Email — unless you provide it via the website feedback form.

Third parties

  • Apple App Store / Google Play — distribute the app. The app is free; no payment data is processed.
  • Apple Game Center / Google Play Games — optional platform leaderboard integration; only used when you are signed in. See What we collect for what is shared.
  • Google AdMob — serves banner advertisements. See Advertising above.
  • Supabase — stores your handle, device ID, and scores. Hosted in EU/US.
  • Vercel — hosts our backend API and this website; provides cookie-less analytics.
  • Resend — delivers feedback emails to us; only invoked when you submit the feedback form.

Data retention

Scores submitted while leaderboard consent is in effect are retained indefinitely as part of the public leaderboard, along with the handle and device ID needed to associate them with your account. Feedback submissions are retained for approximately 12 months unless you request earlier deletion. Local data on your device (handle, settings, queued submissions, statistics) is retained until you uninstall the app or clear app data.

Your rights

Email games@webist.agency with your in-game player handle to request deletion or export of your data. We'll respond within 30 days. To clear your local handle and device ID, delete and reinstall the app — a fresh Player_XXXX and a new device identifier will be created on next launch.

Children's privacy

Memorix is rated 4+ and is general-audience. The app does not require sign-in, contains no chat, no friends list, and no user-generated content. It does serve banner advertisements (see Advertising). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of consent in your jurisdiction beyond an anonymous local handle, a device identifier, and opted-in score submissions. If you believe a child has provided data through the feedback form, contact us at the address above and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and post material changes on this page. For substantive changes that affect how we collect data, we'll surface the change in the app on next launch.
